These National Geographic art prints are individually printed as superb giclee prints at high resolutions of 1440 printed dots per inch (dpi) on satin and gloss papers, fine art paper and canvases.
A giclee (zhee-CLAY), is an individually produced, high-resolution, high-fidelity, high tech reproduction produced on a special large format printer. Because giclees deliver astonishing realism and long life they are creating a whole new vibrant medium for art. A Giclee Print is quite simply the closest replication of an original photograph and artwork that is currently possible.
The giclee is the new standard in the fine art industry, widely embraced for their astonishing quality by major museums, galleries, publishers, artists and discerning customers.
Giclees are superior to traditional lithography in nearly every way. The low priced lithographic posters are typically printed at 300 dpi. The colours are brighter, last longer, and are so high-resolution that they are virtually 'continuous tone', rather than tiny dots. The range, or "gamut" of color for giclees is far beyond that of lithography, and details are crisper.
The images on the site are low resolution thumbnails but each print is produced from a high resolution file by our own staff and machines in Bletchley Park Science and Innovation Centre in England. We guarantee that you will receive superb gallery quality fine art prints in the fastest possible turnaround time wherever you are in the world.

Giclee Print Perspectives
The original National Geographic photographs are a variety of shapes and sizes. Where the aspect ratio of the selected print does not match the selected print paper size, the print will be made to maximize the size of the print on the paper, i.e. the longest edge of the print will match the longest edge of the paper.
Prints can optionally be provided with a border (for example to allow for framing) of approximately 15mm around the image. This is our standard margin but we can amend this to suit your own particular requirements so please contact us if you need this changed. Every canvas print is printed with a border of about 70mm to enable you to have it stretched on a frame. Prints are not provided cropped. For special border and cropping requirements, please contact Printree directly.
